III Spectroscopy for Heritage Meeting

The third edition of the Spectroscopy for Heritage Meeting builds on the outstanding success of the previous two events, continuing to bring together the heritage science community and the world-leading research facilities at Harwell for a dedicated day of knowledge exchange and collaboration.

This meeting is designed to strengthen and deepen connections between heritage scientists, conservators, researchers and large-scale national research facilities. Through a programme of expert talks, discussion and facility engagement, participants will explore current research themes, address outstanding challenges in heritage science and discover the cutting-edge analytical and characterisation capabilities available across the Harwell campus.

The event aims to foster a shared understanding of material characterisation needs within the heritage sector, highlighting how advanced spectroscopy and analytical techniques can be applied to heritage science and conservation research. Presentations will be delivered by specialists from HarwellXPS, the Central Laser Facility, ISIS Neutron and Muon Source, the Courtauld Institute of Art and the National Trust, offering perspectives from both facility providers and heritage practitioners.

In addition to the talks, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in guided tours of the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source and the Central Laser Facility, providing valuable insight into the capabilities, infrastructure and access pathways of these internationally renowned facilities.
