From Thursday 30 July 2026, researchers from around the world will once again have the opportunity to access the unique facilities, expertise and resources of E-RIHS ERIC through the E-RIHS Third Call for Access.
The Call provides scientists, scholars and heritage professionals working in Heritage Science with free access to the E-RIHS Catalogue of Services, a comprehensive gateway to cutting-edge scientific instrumentation, digital tools, archives, collections and specialist expertise supporting interdisciplinary research on cultural heritage.
Whether your research focuses on the materials, history, conservation or preservation of heritage, the E-RIHS Catalogue of Services offers access to a wide range of services, including microscopy, mass spectrometry, tomography, hyperspectral imaging, digital environments, metadata services, libraries, archives and much more. Researchers can easily explore the available opportunities using detailed service descriptions, images and dedicated search filters.
The Catalogue of Services brings together services across the four E-RIHS platforms:
- ARCHLAB, providing access to scientific archives, collections and reference data hosted by museums, galleries and research institutions.
- DIGILAB, offering digital tools, data services and research environments that support data-driven heritage science.
- FIXLAB, giving access to advanced fixed analytical facilities and the expertise of their scientific staff.
- MOLAB, enabling in situ, non-invasive analysis through state-of-the-art mobile instrumentation for artworks, monuments, archaeological sites and museum collections.
Before submitting a proposal, applicants are encouraged to review the technical description of each service carefully and, where appropriate, contact the relevant Service Manager to discuss the suitability of the requested access. The E-RIHS Helpdesk is also available to provide guidance throughout the application process.
Applications are open until Thursday 15 October 2026 and close at 12:00 noon CET. Following the evaluation process, proposals will be assessed on the basis of scientific excellence and successful applicants will be granted access to their selected services.
